Very early in the year, we wrote a post entitled “Hot Baby Products to Watch for in 2010“, in which we listed 5 must-have baby products to watch for this year! The Zooper To-go High Chair was one of these amazing baby products that made our “must have” list and I’m happy to say that the Zooper To-go high chair has been released and is now available for purchase!
We were given the opportunity to review the Zooper To-go high chair and I have a feeling that after this review, there is going to be a number of you who are going to want to purchase this high chair. Let me start by saying that this is the first company who has designed a full size, collapsible high chair. Read below to find out why we think the Zooper To-go high chair just may make our list of the Top 10 baby products in 2010!
About the Zooper To-Go High Chair
The Zooper To-Go High Chair is a great option for parents on the go or families that are short on space! Suitable for children 6 months to 45 pounds, this high chair offers all of the features of a full-size high chair, yet offers a compact fold that allows for easy storage or “throw in the car” capabilities!
Out of the Box
There’s no need for assembly or tools of any kind! The Zooper To-Go is ready to use right out of the box….I’m quite certain it doesn’t get any easier than this!
Opening the Zooper To-Go
As I opened the box, I was surprised that there were not any pieces that required assembly. With that being said, I went right to work reading the instructions on how to open the high chair. With a simple pull of the release lock (see picture below) and a gentle pull upwards, the Zooper To-go launched right up to the upright position and locked into place! Within about 10 seconds, it was ready for Lil’ Pea to hop in and take it for a test drive.
Rockin’ and Rollin’ (time for some safety tests)
With any new children’s product, the first feature I want to check out is the safety and sturdiness of the product. The Zooper To-Go features a 360° circle base, allowing for more stability than traditional high chairs with legs and offers a five-point harness in an effort to keep little one’s safe at all times. The high chair is quite tall, so, I of course, wanted to ensure that my Lil’ Pea was going to be safe…so we went for a little rockin’ and rollin’! I told Lil’ Pea to rock her entire body side to side and then I asked her to jump up and down (while seated of course) and my goal was to see if the high chair would tip, or move at all, for that matter. After a few minutes of rockin’ and rollin’ I was rather confident that this high chair was sturdy enough to not only accommodate an older child like Lil’ Pea, but most importantly I was convinced that it was SAFE! As I mentioned earlier, this high chair is quite tall, which turned out to be an added safety measure for our Lil’ Pea. You see she likes to unbuckle herself and climb out, which has always made me nervous and with the design of this high chair …she.can’t.get.out..problem solved!
Closing the Zooper To-Go
Closing the zooper To-Go is nearly as simple as opening the high chair. To close, you simply slide up the release lock located on the back of the backrest and release the secondary lock (located under the seat) by pulling out a round pull knob. The high chair will then close and lock into the closed postion. Once in the closed position, the high chair is completely flat and encompassed within the circle base, measuring just 7.5 inches high. The base also has a handle, so you can simply grab the handle, toss it in the car and your on your way!
Collapsing the To-Go High Chair
Tray
We did find the tray to be a bit smaller than traditional high chairs, although deep enough to keep food from falling off the sides. We found that removing the tray was a bit of a pain, as the tray bars slip in and out of a fabric piece, which makes up the sides of the high chair. However, we find it much simpler to just slip Lil’ Pea in and out of the chair and there’s plenty of room to accommodate this.
Seat Pads
The To-Go high chair comes with two sets of seat pads (available in black/red and blue/red) allowing for quick and easy clean-up. The pads are held on by velcro strips, so they are easy to take on and off. To clean the pads, parents can simply use cold water and a mild soap.
Pros:
– Adjustable Footrest
– Removable and Washable Fabric
– Additional set of seat fabric/cushions
– Detachable Tray
– Five-Point Safety Harness
– Carry Handle
– Can be used as a traditional high chair and a travel high chair
– Grows with Baby
– Compact Fold
– Affordable (just $129.99)
Cons:
– Smaller than average tray
– Basic padding (no extra padding here)
– Tray can be a bit difficult to take on an off
Final Thoughts
We love the versatile nature of this high chair, as it can be used as a traditonal at-home high chair and an on-the-go high chair, eliminating the need to buy an additional travel high chair, saving you time and money in the process! Zooper is certainly ahead of it’s time, with this ingenious design and parents now have the option to purchase one high chair that does it all!

Those are really nice. I like how easy it seems to set up. The high chairs I’ve always used were a pita to deal with in general.
