The weather’s beginning to cool down here in Southern California and about this time every year, I get the itch to go on Vacation. Sure summer vacations are fun, but winter vacations are just magical. There’s something about an ice cold breeze, snow on the ground and the prescence of your own breath in the air that makes me want to leap through a field of snow covered grass (is that possible?).
However, there is one place that I’ve always wanted to visit and just haven’t and that’s New York City! The past few years the girls have been a bit too young to go, however this year their just approaching an age where taking them on a flight would be semi-acceptable.
I would love to just show up and grab some broadway tickets and head straight for a show. I’ve always heard how wonderful broadway shows are and I would love to experience that with my family!
Have you been to New York City? Do you live in New York City? I would love to hear what family-based activities are there that we could enjoy!

New York is beautiful in the winter and fun! You can check out Rockefeller Center. It includes the famous ice skating rink, the building where Saturday Night Live and The Today Show are filmed, Radio City Music Hall and the Christmas tree! We also took my nieces to the American Girl Store a few years back and they loved it. There’s just so much to do and see in New York.

My mom grew up in NYC so we visited a lot when we were younger! We saw Stomp in NYC once it was amazing! I saw Avenue Q, Lion King and Mama Mia locally and they were great I can only imagine how they would be on/off broadway in NYC!!!

I used to live in San Francisco and just recently moved to the east coast. I think I am the other way around, I am planning on going back to the west coast for a winter vacation. As for New York, it’s an 8 hour drive for me and I plan on going sometime in the next couple weeks. My friends say the museums are awesome and Lion King and the Flying Kazamov Brothers are 2 family friendly broadway shows.
