I would love to start this post off with an exciting blurb about how being green is just SO in..but I won’t bore you! By now, you know the benefits of using green products and it’s at one’s sole discretion to choose to “go green” and save the trees and all that fun stuff. This post is for those of you that live green or want to live green and just can’t justify the high prices that come along with many “green” products.
Marcal Small Steps is a green brand that can help families save money while saving trees at the same time. Marcal makes paper towels, toilet paper and napkins made from 100% premium recycled paper…NOT TREES and typically sells for less than other paper goods companies, who often times destroy trees and contain dyes and fragrances.
FACT:
If every household in the U.S. replaced just one package of traditional toilet paper with Marcal Small Steps, together we could help save nearly one million trees! In your home, you could save two trees a year just by switching to products made from 100% recycled materials!
My Thoughts
Marcal Small Steps sent me an array of products to check out including napkins, paper towels, tissue paper and toilet paper. The products were surprisingly not much different than traditional paper products. However, I will say that after trying the toilet paper, I wasn’t as thrilled to purchase this as the other items. The toilet paper was tolerable, however it was a bit rough and thin and just not the experience I want on a daily basis. The napkins, paper towels and even the tissue paper products are absolutely items I will purchase in the future and I’m always thrilled to contribute to mother earth when I can, especially at this price point.
Buy It!
Marcal Small Steps are available at a number of retailers nationwide. Head over to Marcal’s website to find a retailer near you.
Disclaimer: Marcal Small Steps sent me a variety of paper goods to facilitate my review. My thoughts and opinions remain my own!

Marcal is the biggest air and water polluter in the state of New Jersey. They have been fined almost a billion dollars by the EPA, and do much more harm than good. They filed Chapter 11 to avoid paying for the clean up, and also used it as an opportunity to break their union contract. Nice guys, huh? Then when they emerged from bankruptcy, they painted themselves green. For them to claim to be a green, eco-friendly company is a joke, as well as a lie.

I actually could not agree with your review more. We love their paper towels and tissues, but we do not use their toilet paper. I used it once, but it is just not nearly as soft as other brands.

I love seeing companies working to protect our environment. I haven’t tried out any of their products yet, but I’ll have to see how their paper towels compare to the ones we use now.
Crystal @ Simply Being Mommy
I’ve heard of them, but I’ve never used their products. I know not to get the toilet paper though 😉
Faythe@GrammyMousetails
I have seen their advertising & lots of coupons, but it is not available by me to try to compare. I try to use green products when possible, esp if it is cost wise as well. I have not heard anything about what the first comment has spoken about, and we watch a lot of news.

I’m all for going green, but I’m very picky about my toilet paper. The rest, I have reduced the amount I use by using rags. I keep a bag in the kitchen. If there is a spill on the floor, instead of grabbing the paper towels, I grab a rag from the bag. It’s amazing how long a roll of paper towels will last in my home.

I have never heard of this company before, so thanks for the introduction! I too, have to have very soft tp!! But the paper towels sound amazing!
Jenna @ For The Love of Baby!
I agree OUCHIE on the toilet paper but the napkins and paper towels are good to use.

I did this as well and refuse to purchase the t.p lol. Like the paper towels though, and the tissues are kinda rough and rip.

There is only one store that carries this around here and it is 25 minutes away…otherwise I would give it a shot. Your comment about the TP made me laught though “…not the experience I want on a daily basis.” LOL

I’ve seen coupons to try them free often but just can’t find them

Haha, Louise, I was just about to say the same thing! I’ve looked all over for their toilet paper because they keep putting free coupons in the Sunday inserts, but it looks like they don’t have it in the Pacific NW. 🙁
