We were thrilled to join forces with Pampers and participate in their Little Miracles Mission, in an effort to deliver acts of kindness to little miracles and their families, while encouraging parents to support others. The challenge was simple: Pay-it-forward by congratulating and/or offering support to an expectant mother with a gift or surprise gesture. Once more than 2,500 people pledged that they achieved this mission, Pampers promised to respond by giving 1,000 baby showers to expectant mothers nationwide just in time for Mother’s Day!
Pampers didn’t just meet their goal of 2,500, they surpassed it by a long shot!
Our Journey
Pampers sent us a $50 American Express gift card to help a local mom or orginizatioin in our local community. We responded by pairing the gift card with a box of over 200 Pampers Size 1 diapers and donated both to the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault (AAFVSA) here in Bakersfield, CA. The Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault (AAFVSA) is a nonprofit organization that is committed to stopping domestic violence and sexual assault in Kern County. AAFVSA also assists those who suffer from domestic violence and sexual assault reclaim their lives.
After speaking with a director at the organization, she informed me that many women come in and seek help who are either pregnant or have a brand new baby. Often times when they seek the help of AAFVSA they leave behiind everything and have to start completely over. The orginization will offer the gift card and the box of diapers to a mother who really needs them!
Reader Challenge Winner
A few weeks ago we challenged YOU to put your thinking caps on and tell us how you would help someone in your local community if given a $50 gift card. You responded with some very touching stories and to be quite honest with you, if I had a gift card to offer every.single.person who commented on our post, I would gladly do so. However, we only have one. Thanks to my co-judge Kate at The Shopping Mama, we have chosen a Winner!
Congratulations to Megan who said:
“There is a family in my community who lost EVERYTHING to last week’s tornado. They lost their house, their car, everything. The wife of this couple is pregnant with their first baby and due in about 3 weeks. I would love to be able to bless them with this as they work their way out of the trauma they’ve just (and are currently) experiencing.”
Thank You to everyone who left a comment and shared in our reader challenge and a big Thank You to Pampers for giving us the opportunity to take part in the Little Miracles Mission! Pampers has introduced the Second Mission and it is now live on the Pampers Facebook Page, so head over now and take part!

This is amazing to see people get together and help out others.
Especially, to people who have lost everything and are expecting a baby.
It is so important to help women that have been through a lot and to give them a new start and their new baby.
Cheers to all of the helping souls out there!
Megan
Thank you SO much! I’m looking forward to sharing this news with them!
