2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but a hassle to actually travel with, May 3, 2016

This review is from: Melissa & Doug Trunki - Sunny (Orange) (Toy)
Nice idea, but severely lacking as an actual piece of luggage. We've had them for two years and never use them because they are such a hassle to get into and transport if the kids are tired. We travel on short trips (planes, trains, automobiles) about 10 times per year. We've found that the kids can sit on our small hardside spinner suitcases just as easily and they've held up well and are so much more functional and easy to move around than the Trunkis.
PROS:
My 3 and 5 year olds have fun riding on these by themselves.
They are cute and seem to be sturdy.
CONS:
When these are in "ride-on mode" with the locks locked and the saddlebag on (which is too small to hold more than a small notebook and some crayons or pencils) they are time-consuming to get in and out of. This is a problem when you're in a busy airport and kiddo wants his stuffed animal.
The inside straps that are supposed to hold contents in place pop off with miminal tension. The... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best travel product for kids on the market!!, October 29, 2011

Hi,
I normally would never write any review, but because the Trunki has such bad reviews I am going to write one this time. First to say, we have 4 kids under the age of 5 and we travel at least once a year to Germany with a 10 hour flight.
This year I found the Trunki suddenly on Amazon.com and was very hesitant to buy it because of the bad reviews.
I am sooooooooooo happy I did buy it.
I bought for my 4,5 year old Sunny (orange) and for my 3 and 2 year old 2 Trixis (pink).
From the start, they loved the suitcase. They where riding it around the house. They also said that these are their dogs.
I read that the suitcase sometimes opens unexpectedly and because I didn't want to deal with that I made a belt for the suitcase.
On the day of our big journey, we packed the suitcases with all kinds of things and made the belt around.
On the airport the kids where pulling the suitcases without any problems. When we had to wait in line for a long time,... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars I really do like this suitcase plenty of room for a 3 year ..., March 27, 2015

I really do like this suitcase plenty of room for a 3 year old to pack clothes, spare shoes, and a couple toys. We enjoyed using this suitcase in our travels recently. Our daughter was so excited to pull her suitcase and she has a rolley suitcase prior but this was fun and new and she loved that it also gave her a seat when we were in lines for our tickets or rental car. Also rode it a fair amount of time, she enjoyed that part as well however I will say in the airports when there is seem in the walkway it tends to catch and flipped her once but she got back on and rode again. Another con is it is very hard to steer with a child sitting on it it tends to want to go away from you to right or left, we could also tell the wheels won't last long so if you are a frequent traveler it may or may not be the key for you, but we did enjoy it and will be using it again on one of the next trips
