I’m a mom who is always looking for fun, crafty things to do with my girls. We enjoy finger painting, making creepy crawlers, jewelry and so much more. Not only does it occupy my girls time and teach them new skills, but it also allows us to engage and interact with each other in a fun way. I’m sure almost every mom reading this post engages in the same activities with their children, which is why I want to share my new find: The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker.
The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker by Jakks Pacific is a fun little machine that allows even the littlest bakers to show off their baking skills. Kids begin by mixing the flavored cupcake mixes (provided) with a little bit of water and then they can pour their mix into a cupcake cup and place into the microwavable dish. After they have cooked their cupcake to perfection (just 30 seconds) they can get to work on their masterpiece. Using the cupcake froster, little bakers can frost their cupcakes and decorate at will.

What we love…
We love that little cooks can get a quick introduction to baking basics. Kids will learn basic baking skills, like measurements and mixing and safely tap into their creative mind while their at it. It’s also important to note that these cupcakes are really yummy (of course I ate a few)! Although the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker is rated for ages 8 and up..our 4 year old Milla had no problem navigating her way into a cupcake frenzy. Not only was she excited to bake all by herself, but she was eager to get to the taste test. Her favorite part: The sprinkles, of course!
What we don’t love….
You have to find the right consistency for the frosting in order for the cupcake froster to properly twist and make a beautiful cupcake. If your frosting is too runny, it will just slop all over the cupcake, so it’s important to remember to make the frosting really, really thick! It took us a few times to get it, but once we did, we had some pretty cute cupcakes. We also didn’t love that daddy was trying to steal the cupcakes when we weren’t looking!
