I’m not much of a cereal eater, but my kids definitely are. Just like every other child, they want to choose the brightest box of cereal they can find at the grocery store, which usually leads to me saying NO because it’s filled with sugar and who knows what else! Unfortunately for us, there is only a select few cereals that will enter our doors and each one of those has a darn good reason why we brought it home! Whether it be low sugar, no red dye (people get a clue, this is really hurting our kids) or no preservatives, each one that we take home has some sort of “goodness” coming from the ingredient list.
Honey Kix is a new favorite around here and not only is it a good source of fiber, calcium and vitamin D, but it contains 16 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily) and has NO artificial flavors or preservatives! No Artificial nonsense = O.K. with Mom! It also tastes fabulous and my kids keep trying to sneak the box out of the pantry! I have found them with the box twice now….sneaky little girls! Oh and don’t think Lil’ Pea doesn’t participate, she climbs the shelves to grab the box for her older sister!
