Being a young mother, and having many more important things to focus on other than clothes (gasp!), my “style” was the first item of business to get kicked to the curb. One would think that by the age of 29, I would have figured out that jeans with holes in them, and graphic tees were’nt exactly age appropriate, nor were they flattering….but, not me. Then, one day, it was as if a light bulb went off and I suddenly realized that my style needed some serious attention, and I went to work.
I not only needed an updated look, but a more sophisticated, grown-up, and mother-ish look. No, I don’t mean a June Cleaver get-up, I mean a softer, more put together look that would better represent who I am, rather than who I was. First things first, I’m a comfort girl. If it’s not comfortable, I won’t wear it. I do not big puffy heart my high heels, and I refuse to wear a piece of clothing that requires me to wear an uncomfortable, piece of latex that acts like a corset of sorts. Blech! I’m a flowing summer dress kind of girl…a girl who would go barefoot everyday if it wasn’t “innapropriate”. I’m the kind of girl that likes to put a flower in my hair, and wear one minimal piece of jewelery that only makes me happy…that’s my style!

I am really liking the ruffled look this summer. The little ruffles on dresses, tank tops and even on bathing suits. They really are flattering. I like the ruffles on dresses at the Loft. I love this store and I know what you mean about trying to dress more your age. I tend to dress younger too.
