This year, my husband and I made it our mission to give to those in need. Throughout this last year we have been touched by many stories. Those close to us and those not so close to us have been hit hard with the recent economy woes. With the economy in crisis, suddenly, average, everyday families are losing their homes, their belongings and the worst part is there are millions of children involved in the struggle. A few years ago, at this time, many parents were shopping for Christmas gifts and this year, many of those parents find themselves in a position that makes it hard to even put dinner on the table!
So what are we going to do about it?
My husband and I decided to take a percentage of our budget and purchase Toys and clothing that we will then donate to local charities. It’s Christmas and everyone deserves to open a package on Christmas, regardless of who or where you are!
You can help too….
There are many ways that you too can help! Here are a few ideas:
– have a yard sale and raise money which you can then distribute to charities
– Clean out any belongings you are not using and donate to local charity
– Use my “deal finding savvy” and purchase a toy or a few toys to donate to your local charity or Toys for Tots
– Donate your time! Many charities are in need of volunteers. You can get out the phone book, call a few local charities and ask them if they are in need of volunteers
Give Back with Robeez….
Give back with Robeez Season of Giving! With EVERY soft sole shoe purchased from Robeez through December 23rd, Robeez will donate a pair of soft sole shoes to K.I.D.S.! That’s right, you get a pair and you get to give a pair…how cool is that? It’s just one simple way that you can give back this Holiday Season!
Check out the Robeez Booties, they looks so cute and warm. I only wish that they made these in Lil’ Pea’s size! You may also want to check out the SALE section as there are some cute pairs of soft soles there as well!
Whether you participate in a buy one, give one program like Robeez is offering, or you clean out your home and donate items that your family no longer needs, your taking action and you are helping those less fortunate and making their Christmas a little bit brighter this year!
Disclosure: I am participating in a Twitter Moms Blogging Contest, where I have the opportunity to win Robeez Shoes.
