As we approach the last weekend before Christmas, everyone is scrambling with last minute plans and last minute gift giving. My husband, if not for me, would continue to do all of his shopping on Christmas Eve, a task that with the mere mention of it, makes me shudder! I have found that many last minute shoppers tend to head to the mall as they find many shops in one location, which is rather convenient, but also rather pricey!
For those of you who are budget minded, like myself, consider heading to TJ Maxx or Marshalls to finish your last minute shopping and save some serious cash in the process! We have been long time fans of both stores and the Holidays are no exception. When you visit TJ Maxx or Marshalls your sure to find amazing gifts on a budget, which makes your budget stretch just a little bit further this year. I think we all could use that!
We recently had the opportunity to visit Marshalls armed with a $25 gift card provided by the company, itself. Our mission: To shop to our hearts desire and see what treasures we could come up with! As many of you know, we have made an effort to give to charity more than this year, than years past. With the economy in crisis and jobs at an all time low, it’s important to our family, that less fortunate families are able to have a blessed Christmas too! So we decided to see what we could find for charity!
My first thought was to head to the toy section and oh my goodness is Marshalls loaded up with toys, offering discounts up to 50% off! Many of the toys that we checked out were the toys on many children’s wish lists made by popular manufacturers like Fisher Price, Leap Frog, Playskool and more! We then decided to check out the children’s clothing section and not only does Marshalls offer brand name clothing at a huge discount, but you can even find some of this clothing on clearance! I saw complete outfits for under $5! How’s that for a nice charity donation? We loaded our cart with 2 toddler toys, 2 outfits and 2 pairs of socks for just $25! I know…AMAZING! We had more fun walking through this store and searching for treasures and we think you will too!
We then headed down the street to Tj Maxx armed with a $25 gift card from the company. Again, our mission: To shop to our hearts desire and see what we could come up with! The store is huge! There were plenty of departments including, men, women and children’s clothing, toys, household items and even jewelry. We found a number of children’s back packs on clearance and scooped them up with for our donation. We noticed that this store had a huge section of housewares with everything from Anolon cookware sets to baking pans and knives. There were plenty of large and small treasures to be found and we had a blast!
