Yesterday was a day filled with mixed emotions as Big Pea said goodbye to her kindergarten teacher. Her teacher has been nothing short of magical and has embraced her as the smart, talented, funny and energetic little girl that she is and he has fostered her growth and development over this past year. As we walked to our car, tears were streaming from her eyes and I too, wasn’t successful at warding off my tears.
Words cannot possibly express how thankful I am to her teacher for teaching her a love for school and a love for learning. Although I think all teachers play such an important role in the lives of our children, it is the kindergarten teacher ‘s role to start them out on the right foot and teach them a life long love for learning. In my heart, I hope he knows how important his role was in her life and how thankful we are for his participation.
It is for this very reason that Bing is encouraging parents and students everywhere to recognize teachers who have made a difference in their lives! Bing has just launched a new campaign focused on supporting kids education and has joined forces with donorschoose.org to donate up to $500,000 in an effort to provide kids, as well as adults an opportunity to express their thanks to a teacher who may have touched their lives and in the process, help other teachers!
$25 to donate to the classroom of your choice
Simply visit www.bing.com/education and post a comment or share a story about a teacher who has influenced you, and Bing will provide you with a $5 donation to donorschoose.org, which you can use towards the classroom project of your choice! Each individual can leave up to 5 comments for a total donation of $25! Yes, you heard that right…simply leave 5 comments at www.bing.com/education and receive $25 to donate to the classroom of your choice!
Mom Central has given us the opportunity to help spread the word about Bing’s new Teacher’s Appreciation campaign and we were provided with a $100 donorschoose.org gift certificate! Although Big Pea’s teacher did not have a current project, I let him know that he was at liberty to create one at any time and would have the opportunity to encourage his students and their parents to donate to his classroom project. We did however, donate $100 to a local teacher, Mrs. K’s project entitled “For the love of Math and Science”! Mrs. K’s project will allow her students’ more opportunities to get actively involved in Math and Science by providing her students with the proper materials. We wish you the best of luck with your project Mrs. K and hope that this donation will allow you to foster a love of learning!
I encourage all of you to leave your five comments and donate your FREE $25 to a current classroom project. I also encourage all of you to tell the teachers you know and love about Bing’s Teacher Appreciation campaign and encourage them to create a classroom project! Just think…if each person in a classroom left five comments and donated their $25 to that teacher’s project, they would reach their goal in no time!
Disclaimer: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Bing and a $100 DonoseChoose.org giving code to facilitate my review. Mom Central also sent me a thank-you gift certificate.

I’ll never forget my kindergarten teacher. She was wonderful! I even wrote a term paper about her in college; she really had an impact on me, as so many teachers of young children do. This is a great program, with many worthwhile projects.
