Dyson Air Multiplier Fan Review

FacebookTwitterPinterestAmazon Wish ListShare

James Dyson has once again introduced an ingenious product that has everyone stopping in their tracks to say their “ooooohs” and “ahhhhhs”! Dyson, known for their superbly engineered vacuum cleaners, has recently expanded their product line to include 3 new fans or air multipliers, and with a name like Dyson, comes none other than superbly engineered and quality products!

Dyson’s new Air Multiplier fans are based on what I like to call “the power of elimination”. The elimination of dangers, the elimination of dirt, the elimination of awkward adjustment and the elimination of set air flow. Dyson took the standard fan that we have all come to know so well and eliminated every single problem associated with it, producing what I, and many others deem to be “the perfect fan”!

Dyson Air Multiplier
Dyson Air Multiplier fans work differently from conventional fans. They use Air Multiplier™ technology to draw in air and amplify it – from 15 to 18 times, depending on the model. With no blades or grille, they’re safe and easy to clean. And they produce an uninterrupted stream of smooth air, with no unpleasant buffeting.

When it comes to purchasing a fan, the first and foremost feature that any consumer wants to know is how well the fan is going to move air throughout the room. I can tell you firsthand, that the air that the table fan produces is truly amazing and one that I wasn’t prepared for the first time I turned it on. One wouldn’t expect such a large amount of air to come out of a 10-inch table fan, yet I’m here to tell you that this produces more air than ANY fan we have previously owned and seems to cover a much larger area within the room.

Dimmer Switch – Dyson Air Multipliers feature a dimmer switch power control, which means that you are not limited to just a low or high setting. With a simple turn of a knob, the amount of air being delivered can be precisely controlled thanks to the efficient brushless motor.

Touch Tilt – The Dyson Air Multiplier fan pivots on it’s own center of gravity, staying put in precisely the position you place it in without the need to clamp anything.  This can be done with a simple push of your finger and does not require two hands like standard fans, allowing you to customize the position of airflow to exactly the location you desire.

Design & Safety
The modern design of Dyson’s air multiplier is truly stunning and one that will add just the right amount of flair to any room in your home. However, this design serves a purpose far beyond good looks. What makes Dyson’s air multiplier stand out is the elimination of fan blades that little fingers can access. We have not owned a table or stand fan since prior to Big Pea’s birth, due to the danger that they pose to small fingers. With Dyson’s Air Multiplier, this worry is eliminated and parents everywhere are leaping for joy (myself included).

We all know the process that’s involved with cleaning fan blades and it’s a painful one! With the elimination of fan blades, Dyson has created a fan that can be cleaned with a simple swipe of a cloth and takes a matter of seconds to complete. Lengthy removal of parts and awkward cleaning of fan blades is now a thing of the past!

If you want to see something ridiculously cool, you must check out this video made by Dyson engineers after a day at work!

Final Thoughts
The Dyson Air Multiplier Fan offers consumers a truly unique fan that with “the power of elimination” has introduced an entirely new idea to the market.  The design is easy on the eyes and one that can incorporate easily into many decors. This is an exciting new concept for parents who have wee one’s in the home, as it offers one less safety measure to address.   The Air Multiplier Fans do, however, boast a hefty price tag starting at $299. However, with that price comes peace of mind, in my humble opinion, and as the saying goes “you get what you pay for”.

Buy It!
The Dyson Air Multiplier Fans range in price from $299 – $449 and can be purchased at or find a retailer near you!

I don’t understand how it works but it’s the coolest thing ! My biggest issue with our standard fans is that the cat hair builds up on them and they are disgusting in a matter of days. And I never feel like they are safe. These Dyson ones are just amazing
