In 2008, Energizer and National Geographic teamed up on the first Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest, bringing together the world’s premier resource for photojournalism with the company that makes the world’s longest-lasting AA and AAA batteries for digital cameras and other high-tech devices. Three years later, the Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest is enjoying its best year yet – with a record-breaking number of entries….14,000 to be exact!
Now twelve photographers from across the country have just been named Category Finalists in the 2010 Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest with National Geographic. Out of all of those entries, 12 photos stood out as the best in their respective categories, according to Jim Richardson, National Geographic photographer and judge for the Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest. They are now one step closer to their “shot” at greatness and the Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip of a lifetime to the Greek Isles and will see his or her photo appear in the pages of National Geographic magazine in an ad for Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries!
Now it’s time for YOU to pick the category winners!
From now through Sept. 15, you can visit www.nationalgeographic.com/lithium to view the gallery of Category Finalist photos and to select your favorite in each category. I absolutely adore the photo deemed “Glacier Hiker” (pictured above) because it looks like rippled water and when you take a closer look it’s actually a glacier..AMAZING! The Finalist who receives the most votes in his or her category will advance to becoming a Category Winner. The six Category Winners will enter a round of judging by Jim Richardson, National Geographic photographer and judge for the Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest. Richardson who will determine the Grand Prize Winner, to be announced on or about Nov. 4, 2010.
