Total Gym Total Mom Challenge: Week 7

Wow I can’t believe it’s already week 7 of the Total Gym Total Mom Challenge!  This week I’ve been using one of the three videos that came with the Total Gym to do Pilates!  The videos are great because they take you from exercise to exercise and there’s no need to stop and read cards or wonder what your doing.  What I found after the first time I watched the video was that many of the Pilates exercises were exercises I was already doing in my workouts or exercises that were altered just a tad bit.  So it was simple for me to jump into the Pilates workout, which incorporates 18 different exercises, in a non-stop circuit.

It.Kicked.My.Butt.

Half way through the Pilates workout I want to quit, because it hurts.  I have to remind myself that the “hurt” is where my results are going to come from and I typically make strange sounds in the process of pushing myself and the kids come running, wondering what’s wrong with mom!  Oh and speaking of results….I went shopping this week!

Shopping has been less than delightful for a number of years now and regardless of whether I went to Target or Banana Republic, nothing EVER fit right!  It was frustrating and I basically gave up on buying myself clothing because it was more pain than it was worth.  However, my “bag lady” style was getting a little old and it was time for some new clothes and I headed to the GAP!  I first tried on a few pairs of Sz 10 jeans and they were way too big, so I went for the Sz 8’s <———— Did you read that? Size 8!  What’s better is that the Size 8’s were big!  I walked out with a brand new pair of jeans and 6 shirts & sweaters.  It was an awesome experience and I left feeling confident and much better about myself than I have in a long time. It was a priceless experience!
