Zooper Flamenco Stroller Review

FacebookTwitterPinterestAmazon Wish ListShare

Finding the right stroller is about as simple as finding a needle in a haystack! There’s so many strollers on the market today and reading reviews on retail sites will certainly help you with your decision, however sound advice from an other mom will perhaps benefit you more! It is for this reason that we have taken a great interest in reviewing many of the strollers on the market today. It seems that each one comes equipped with different options and each one has a “flair” of it’s own. In fact, we enjoy sharing our thoughts about strollers so much, that we’ll be adding a permanent “stroller reviews” tab to the navigation bar!

Now on with today’s stroller review…

Zooper Flamenco

“Fashion and functionality are offered with the new Zooper Flamenco. It features dual hydraulic frame suspension and new auto riing technology to make opening simple. It has two large 12″ rear air wheels and four 8″ front EVA wheels for easy strolling in any road condition. Comfort and convenience are a big part of the design which includes a reversible seat, a one hand seat recline, and a heigh-adjustable ergonic handle. We even included a sleeping bag and pram body for the maximum comfort of your baby.”

Out of the Box (accessories galore)
This is where the WOW factor of the Zooper Flamenco really begins. Amidst emptying the box of it’s contents, I was amazed at the accessories that this stroller included and I’m still wondering how on earth they fit all of these accessories into one box. Zooper really thought of everything and every possible weather condition when they were developing this stroller. Whether you live in Sunny California or a snow covered hillside, the Zooper Flamenco is ready to provide comfort for little ones.

What’s inside:

– Flamenco Chassis
– Pram Body
– Sleeping Bag
– Rain Cover
– Sun Shade
– Fabric Cup Holder
– Snack Tray
– Maxi Cosi & Recaro Carseat Adapters

What’s impressive about the Flemenco’s accessories is that each one comes with it’s own storage pouch for quick and neat storage. The Pram body is plush and comfortable and features carrying straps for easily moving baby from the stroller to your home and this mom loves that this stroller can double as a “moses basket” of sorts.  The fabric cup holder was even more convenient than I had anticipated and it’s nice to have the option to remove it if needed. The sleeping bag and rain cover, along with the large hood on both the pram and the canopy, offer baby a warm and snug place to ride, even when the elements aren’t exactly cooperating. The sunshade will ensure that wee ones on the sunnier side of the globe are protected by the elements and the snack tray easily attaches when you need it.

The Up and Down Jenga….
When purchasing a stroller, the first matter of business on every parents mind, is how it folds.  This is where the Flamenco really shines!  Although not a compact fold, the process of folding the Flamenco takes about two seconds and to open it, is even easier.  Opening consists of pushing or stepping on two release levers, on either side of the stroller.  Once pushed, the stroller will spring up on it’s own, with the help of the shocks. <—– Love this features!

How to Fold the Zooper Flamenco

Simply grab the two release levers (located on the sides of the stroller) and pull upwards

The handlebars will now fold forward and lock into place

Now simply push down on the frame, near the back of the stroller (near the rear tires) and the stroller will once again lock into place

Congratulations!  Your finished!

Manuverability & Terrain…
The Flamenco pushes like a dream and the dual hydraulic frame suspension offers baby a comfortable and smooth ride.  Between the suspension and the air filled tires, the Flamenco can take on just about any terrain, however this stroller is a bit on the heavy side and requires a little extra “push” while on rough terrain.  The turning radius is’nt as tight as smaller strollers, however for a large, luxury stroller, I was impressed with the Flamenco’s turning radius.

The Flamenco comes equipped with a five-point safety harness, with newborn and toddler settings, as well as a removable bumper bar to ensure babies safe at all times.  If mom and dad want to keep an eye on baby at all times, the seat can be removed and turned around so that baby faces mom and dad.  The Flamenco also offers a newborn head support pillow, as well as a canopy with sun visor, to shield baby from the elements.  What’s even more impressive about the Flamenco, is that this stroller is suitable for children up to 75 lbs.  That’s an impressive weight capacity and the highest weight capacity rating that I’ve seen to date.  Additionally, the Flamenco offers an auto-latch frame lock, to ensure that little fingers are never compromised.

Infant Car Seat Compatible
Zooper has tested and approved the following car seats, using the included car seat adapter strap:

– Evenflo On My Way
– Graco Snug Ride and Safe Seat
– Britax Companion

Additional Features to Consider
Aside from the Flamenco’s amazing accessories, there are also a number of features that make the Flamenco an attractive stroller to parents and parents-to-be.  The most impressive being that both the seat, and the pram, can be turned to face forward or face mom and dad.

The brake system is impressively strong and the canopy offers more coverage than many of the strollers we have seen to date.  The adjustable handlebar offers a comfortable “push” for parents of many heights, including those who are on the taller side and tend to have a long stride.  The under-basket is large enough to store a few shopping bags or a small diaper bag and features a double zip front for keeping items safe.

Final Thoughts…
With it’s amazing design, multitude of accessories, large weight capacity and the ability to grow with your child, the Zooper Flamenco offers a luxury ride that is sure to turn more than a few heads.  The Flamenco is on the large side and because it’s what I would consider to be a heavier stroller, the Flamenco will best suit parents who live in larger cities and will use the stroller for “strolling” purposes.  The Zooper is not intended to be thrown in the back of a car daily and will not suit parents who are in and out of the car multiple times a day.

With a price tag of $999, this is pushing the envelope on a pricey luxury stroller.  However, the highly stylized design, ability to grow with your child, large weight capacity, multitude of features,  included accessories (typically sold separately), and superior ride, make the Zooper Flamenco an attractive buy for many parents and parents-to-be.

Buy It!
The Zooper Flamenco retails for $999 and comes in four colors, including apricot, lime, red and black.  For information on where to purchase the Zooper Flamenco and other Zooper products, visit Zooper on Facebook!

I love that each accessory comes with it’s own storage pouch – I find otherwise things get lost but this is a great way to keep them organized when not in use. Good thinking Zooper!
