With summer quickly approaching and swimsuit season just around the corner (eek!!!), I find myself focusing much of my attention on what I’m putting into my body. Finding the time and energy to exercise has proven to be one of my biggest challenge, followed closely by that silly little questions that pops up at least three times a day… “what can I eat that is healthy and will keep me in my calorie zone for the day”?
To be quite honest, I love food. If I’m going to stay on track, I need at least half of my entrees already pre-made, because not only am I lacking in the time department, but if I let my mind get the best of me, I’ll be eating a giant bowl of ice cream for lunch. And trust me, I can justify it! I often purchase frozen entrees, such as Weight Watchers Smart Ones and keep them in the freezer for a quick lunch that I don’t have to think about. These entrees offer a yummy, low fat, low calorie option that is easy for me to equate, and for those who abide by the points system, these entrees are a no-brainer, as the points value is printed right on the front of the box.
But, what about breakfast?
A recent annual report of the IFIC notes that while 90% of Americans know that having breakfast is important for health and function, only 49% admit to eating breakfast every day. I am certainly guilty of this myself on at least 5 out of 7 days a week. Both dietary choice and exercise are necessary for proper weight control, so it’s time that I spring into action and join the 51% of Americans who are listening to their bodies and eating breakfast.
“Deal”ectable Dad and I have decided that for the next 30 days, we will include healthy meals and daily exercise in an effort to stay on track. We find it easy to stay on track if we set a goal, and are accountable to each other to meet that goal everyday. The weather is perfect outside for the next month or so and there’s simply no reason why we cannot stay on track and keep our calorie and fat content down to a minimum.
Weight Watchers Smart Ones is making it easier to stay on track with a healthy meal plan without spending time on prep work beforehand. Their products provide a variety of delicious, convenient and portion controlled meals and snacks that contain lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. And now they are offering two new breakfast items – like the new Egg, Sausage & Cheese Wrap and the French Toast with Turkey Sausage. Plus, the packaging tells you the Weight Watchers PointsPlus values in each serving, allowing you to conveniently plan for the day.
