Do you know of a special child who gives back to the community? A young volunteer who gives their time to helping others? If you do then direct them to the Farm Rich Kids Who Give Contest.
Farm Rich is inspiring the volunteer spirit in young people aged 7 to 17 who live in the US by sponsoring the Kids Who Give Contest for a third year.
For 2012, Farm Rich will recognize quarterly winners as well as an annual grand-prize winner who will receive $10,000 for the charity of his or her choice. The contest is just about to kick off it’s third quarter in June!
A first, second, and third-place winner will be chosen each quarter to receive donations of $3,500, $1,500 and $1,000, respectively, for their chosen charities. Honorable mentions each quarter get a “Pat on the Back” gift card of $250.
The Grand Prize winner will be chosen through a public online vote in January 2013. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a gift of $10,000 to donate to a selected charity or charities of their choice.
How to Enter
Kids should go to www.kidswhogive.com and submit an essay of up to 500 words explaining their volunteer work and how it has helped others. Entrants are also encouraged to include a video of their volunteer story along with their contest entries.
Encouraging children to volunteer their time to help others will help inspire a lifetime of giving. You can see some great examples of kids who give back to the community by reading about the winners of the 2011 Kids Who Give Contest. You can read their stories on their 2011 Winners Facebook Page.
