Just what we have all been waiting for. The new Kindle Fire is designed to be hot competition for the iPad. And it comes in at a great price – $499 Shipped for the 8.9″ 4G model and just $299 for the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″.

The basic Kindle Fire will be reduced to $159 from the $199 cost of the original model. With this pricing and the new Kindle Fire capabilities it looks as though finally there is a great alternative to the iPad. There will also be a new HD Kindle Fire based on the original and priced at $199.

New Kindle Fire

Right now the new Kindle Fire is available for pre order as it will be released and expected to ship on November 20th. We would guess that demand will be very high so you do need to reserve your place in line.

We are huge fans of everything Apple, and are very much an Apple household. But we love our original Kindle Fire and use it just as much as the iPad – just in a different way. It is expected that Apple is going to release a new smaller iPad as early as next week, so things really are just hotting up in the tablet arena.

How Does the Price Compare with the iPad?

Apple’s 4G iPads with 32 GB cost $729, not including data plans with AT&T or Verizon Wireless. The Kindle Fire 4G is $499 and the data plan will cost just $49.99 for the year.

The Kindle Fire Bargain!

Not wanting to pay the $499 but still looking for an amazing product? Our big recommendation is the original Kindle Fire which we felt was well priced already, but now at just $159 Shipped it is even more tempting!
