Beaches Movie Released on DVD

Beaches with Bette Middler and Barbara Hershey is now available on Blu ray DVD. It is difficult to believe that this movie dates back to 1988. I still remember the first time I saw the movie and have seen it many times since over the years.

Even if you have never seen the movie you will undoubtedly know the hauntingly beautiful song ‘Wind Beneath My Wings”.

It has been years since I watched Beaches so it was a real treat this weekend when I spent some time with a girlfriend who is recovering from surgery right now.

It was a really beautiful movie to watch with a close girlfriend. It is very sentimental and yes you will probably not be able to stop the tears falling. It is the story of a 30 year long friendship between two very different women – played by Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. I am so used these days to seeing the brilliant Barbara Hershey in one of my favorite television shows Once Upon a Time it was a treat to see her in this movie.

Beaches is one of those classic movies which really does not date. It is the story of friendship which will be just as relevant in future years as it was in the past.

Set aside some quality time and watch this movie with a good friend – we should all take more time to stop and smell the roses and this is certainly a central message of the movie.
