For those of you who are not familiar with Elefun and Friends yet, your going to want to be! This fun line of games for little ones is sure to have you and your little ones laughing with excitement and fun and just in time for the Holiday Season!
Thanks to My Blog Spark we had the opportunity to test drive two games from the Elefun and Friends line: Scatterpillar Scramble and Giraffalaff Limbo! For our family, it created an opportunity for the four of us to join together as a family and have a good ol’ game night, pizza and all! First let me tell you a little bit about the games:
Giraffalaff Limbo – the crazy new game of “how low can you go?” Spin the dial to try one of the 6 limbo styles: classic limbo, crab walk, crawl, giraffe walk, bend forward or backward. The game´s built-in sound will play an encouraging song as preschoolers try not to bump into Giraffalaff. If he´s knocked over, he´ll roll on the floor in laughter. The player that passes under Giraffalaff at the lowest level wins.
Our experience with Giraffalaff Limbo was more than entertaining. Once you spin the dial to see which one of the six limbo moves you have to complete, the kids have to try and successfully complete that limbo without knocking the bar down. I think it was more entertaining for my husband and I, as we got to laugh at how hilariously the girls tried to limbo! When the kids knock the bar down, the giraffe starts laughing hysterically, which is pretty funny in and of itself. The only downside with this game is once the limbo piece is built, there’s no taking it down. It’s a one time assembly, which means you have to have a spot to store it. Overall we enjoyed playing and we did a lot of laughing.
Scatterpillar Scramble – kids will do their best to balance marbles in the hands of one very wiggly caterpillar. Kids will have fun dancing along to the music with Scatterpillar in this fast-paced marble game. The first player to securely place all 8 marbles in Scatterpillar´s hands wins. Scatterpillar Scramble was named the 2009 Preschool Game of the Year by Creative Child Magazine.
Our experience with Scatterpillar Scramble was not only fun but really challenges your little ones fine motor skills. Picking up the marbles with the included tongs creates the first challenge and placing those marbles in a wiggly, giggly caterpillar proves to be entertaining and challenging for even mom’s and dad’s! We let Lil’ Pea cheat a bit and use her fingers, putting her own fine motor skills to work and she loved it. It’s a fun game that will have everyone laughing with excitement.
Elefun and Friends Online….
The fun doesn’t stop with the games! Kids can also experience the fantasy world of Elefun & Friends online by visiting www.elefunandfriends.com and entering the special code that can be found inside each Elefun & Friends game box. Children can then access The Tangled Tale, an Elefun & Friends animated short. This entertaining tale features Elefun on an adventure to untangle a kite string, which ultimately leads him to the true meaning of friendship. The Elefun & Friends online experience also lets kids play games and sing along to songs like “Friends´ til the End” and “Follow that String” that help remind children of the importance of fun and play!
