With summer fast approaching, we are beginning to ponder the idea of summer camps for the first time. Big Pea is approaching six years old and although I have not felt comfortable dropping her off a few hours a day in previous years, I think she is finally ready this year! She really enjoys school and I want to ensure that her little brain keeps chuggin’ along, even through summer time! When I asked her what type of summer camp she would like to attend, she immediately said science camp and understandably! Science camps offer hands on experience and projects that are simply fun for kids, while keeping little minds busy, learning new things.
We were recently introduced to Champions Science Summer Camps, the largest provider of science enrichment programs in the U.S., with over 30 years experience! This hands-on science camp is developed for ages 5-12 years old and offers half day or full day camps depending upon your need. Each camp is 1 week long and varies in price. This year Champions Science Summer Camps are offering 4 exciting camps to choose from:
Children will learn about all things wild, becoming a naturalist explorer! Children will go on a Mini-Beast Safari using their magnifying glasses to inspect ladybugs and have the opportunity to build their own microscope, binoculars, take home a sticky tongue and so much more!
Children will discover the world of robots through designing their very own robot! Children will explore batteries and electricity while building their very own LED flashlight and create a spy ear using an electric amplifier.
Children will decode hieroglyphics using their very own decoder wheel and then make their own name cartouche! Your child will become an archeologist, digging out a mummy from the sand using real archeologist tools, find a pyramid and even bring home real gold!
Children will build their very own custom designed hydro rocket kit, build their own space station, grow ghost crystals in a hydroponic green house and so much more! Hands on activities will have children exploring the world beyond our own!
Champions Science Adventures summer day camps focus on FUN and take science education beyond the classroom in an effort to spark a child’s interest in the world of science, through exploration and discovery. The summer program is designed to inspire curiosity about how the world works while instilling a love of learning about science through interactive, hands-on experiments and activities.
