As a child, I didn’t give much thought as to how our schools operated, as well as the countless hours put in by staff, parents and volunteers to ensure we were getting a proper education. With budget cuts hitting many schools across the U.S., parents and teachers alike, have attempted to pick up the pieces and ensure that every child has the right materials and the best environment for learning. However, many of these parents simply can’t afford to pick up the costs left behind by the budget cuts and many schools across the country are in need.
With that being said, Bing has introduced the “Our School Needs” contest in an effort to support the teachers, parents and educators who make it all happen, with products, programs and donations to help provide a great learning environment! Perhaps your school needs new computers, a science lab, playground equipment or a new basketball court!
Enter to Win
From now until Friday, October 22nd, students AND teachers can submit an entry from their school, including a story of what their school needs, photos and a video (optional). Please note that if the student is under the age of 18, a parent/guardian or teacher will need to submit the entry on their behalf. The entries will then be made available online for everyone to see and rate! The 5 top rated submissions in each category (15 total) is guaranteed a slot in the final panel. Top rated submissions and the top editors picks will then be turned over to a distinguished panel of judges who will determine the 15 finalists.
Categories and Prizes
There will be 3 categories (k-6, 7-9 and 10-12th grades). The Overall Grand Prize Winning School will receive $100,000 and each category will have a First Prize of $50,000!
