Little Tikes has been around for a number of years and children across the country have enjoyed quality playtime with many Little Tikes toys, while mom and dad have enjoyed the price point that Little Tikes offers.  We have personally owned a number of toys from Little Tikes including the Little Tikes BBQ and the current swingset we have in our back yard.  So naturally when Little Tikes asked us to check out the new Little Tikes Neighborhood Market, we were thrilled to have the chance to take it for a test drive shop!  But, before I get to the fun part, first let me tell you about the nieghborhood market…..

Little Tikes Neighborhood Market
This super stand is actually three markets in one!  With a quick change it can go from a fruit stand, to an ice cream shop to a bakery and features an array of accessories!

Features:

– Clear sliding doors for real shopping fun
– 23 accessories include:
– Cash register
– pretend money and credit card
– 3 lemons, 3 oranges, 4 cupcakes, 2 bunches of bananas
– 1 ice cream scooper, 2 ice cream scoops, 2 ice cream cones
– Awning pulls down and winds up
– Wheels and handle
– Pretend cash register with play money
– Chalk board marquee

Our Thoughts
Assembling the Neighborhood Market took about 30 minutes thanks to my husband and his screw driver, however there were two small screws near the top of the market that were sheered off and we had to contact the company to get replacement parts in order to finish building it. The rest of the assembly was simple and the directions were easy to follow.

Once built, the Neighborhood Market was so stinkin’ cute I could hardly stand it. What little girl or boy wouldn’t love to “set up shop” and pretend to sell or buy from the market. The little cash register does not have real working buttons other than the one that actually opens the drawer, however it’s still loads of fun. Pretend money comes along with the market, as well as a an array of foods that can be placed behind the two sliding doors.

When it’s time to close up shop, the awning can be pulled down to let patrons know that they’ll need to come back tomorrow! Another feature that I love, love, love is that the Neighborhood Market is on wheels and can be pulled to multiple locations around the home. Finally, a chalkboard marquee near that top can display the shops name or anything else for that matter, allowing children to add a personal touch.

  43. I can honestly say this is my new favorite toy! It is SO cute and would LOVE to win this for my 2 year old. Even if I don’t Santa might just have to use her.. Err, I mean his swagbucks and get it for Christmas anyhow =)

  53. Our favorite Little Tikes toy is currently the playhouse we have in our back yard. It has been a favorite for over 3 years now!! That was one of the best toy buys I ever made!!!

  61. My son LOVES his Little Tikes basketball hoop. We have one for inside as well as one for inside. I love my children’s Little Tikes shopping carts. We use them for sorting clothes and picking up the house. The shopping carts turn picking up into a game.

  65. My favorite Little Tykes Toy is the Kitchen! I looked everywhere for a great second hand kitchen because I couldn’t afford one new. And, I just didn’t want to settle for a cheesy one. FINALLY! I scored a Little ATykes at a yard sale for $10! You can tell it was well loved, and it has held up great for my two little ones. That is quality!

  74. I loved and still love the Classic Doll Buggy and the Classic Doll Stroller. I used them, I had them in my class when I was a preschool teacher and now my kids have them!

  316. Favorite and most USEFUL was the picnic table! My kids played outside “restaurant”, had picnics, did artplay and so many things with that! AND it was passed on to other family and lasts forever!

  374. My favorite Little Tikes product was the original (vintage) Kitchen set…Stove w/microwave,sink and oven and the separate refridgerator. I was soooooo envious that my cousin got those!

  470. My kids all loved the cozy car and found many inventive ways to play with it and it stood up to all their abuse. It is well made as are all the Little Tykes products, no recalls here! I am a grandma now and look foward to buying more goodies for my 2 grandkids in the future.

  512. My favorite L:ittle Tykes was my sons tugboat pool/sandbox..he loved it and was in that thing every day in the summer. We had so many good memories and got some good pics of him in it too 🙂

  540. With all my kids, day care kids, foster kids, the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe is the ultimate favorite. But my all time favorite Little Tikes bargain I found, was the Playground that is at many Day Care Centers for only $700 secondhand instead of nearly $5000.

  562. Little Tikes has so many great toys but one of our favorites is the Waffle Blocks! I see they now have Giant Waffle Blocks on the website – my kids would LOVE these! Thanks!

  624. I really don’t remember any specific toy growing up, but I’m probably worse at enjoying the toys that my kids have. Our latest obsession is saving for the triangle bouncer for next summer. We’re planning a party for my kids and their friends with this!

  677. we have a little tikes slide/ climber cube thing I got at a garage sale. It was perfect for my daughter’s first climber when she was 1 and now that she’s 4 she still uses it as a water slide for her kiddie pool. crayolaswap at hotmail dot com

  759. I just love to see my granddaughters play with all Little Tike toys but my favorite has been the grocery store with the electronic scanner voice as the pretend food is passed by. We have hours of fun pretending that one of us is shopping for the “princess’s” ball. It has taught my granddaughters about shopping, use of money and budget…what is better than that!

  760. My daughter has the Go and Grow Giraffe. She received it as a gift from her godmother, and even though she is too big for it she still likes to try to ride it around the house. The Neighborhood Market is the perfect item to go with my daughters vivid imagination of pretending she is serving something from a drive-thru! (“Mama, do you want coffee, or french fries. I have ice cream, one dollar please.”) She currently has an art easel she gets in the middle of and pretends to be “selling” stuff.
