Time Saving Tips for the Holiday Season ($50 Giveaway)

You are here: Home / Reviews / Giveaways / Time Saving Tips for the Holiday Season ($50 Giveaway)

December 21, 2010 //  by admin//  202 Comments

The Holiday season has been sneaking up right behind us and now that the Holiday season is quite literally upon us, it’s time to finish shopping,  finalize menu plans and enjoy the company of friends and family.  With so many things to do, time is something that many of us have ran out of!  I hope a few of these time saving tips will help you finalize your plans and make it to the big day just in time!

– You still have time to skip the lines!
Shopping online is a great way to save yourself some serious time and many retailers are offering FREE shipping upgrades today and tomorrow, so you’ll pay little to no shipping fees!

– Hit the grocery store now! Christmas Eve, and the day prior, are NOT the days you want to visit the grocery store. Yet, every year I seem to make this mistake over and over again, each year.  Shop now and avoid the basket wars and long lines.

– Save a trip to the bank! If your a Bank of America customer, you can skip a trip to the bank by using Bank of America’s online banking.  By utilizing this free feature, you can check balances, transfer money, and even set-up alerts, ensuring that your mush brain won’t miss a beat.

– Wrap as you go! Each time you bring an item in the house, immediately wrap it and place it under the tree. I cannot tell you how many countless people have told me that this is one of their biggest time saving tips! I typically wait until Christmas Eve to wrap everything and it’s not only overwhelming, but I stay up until 2am and end up exhausted on Christmas day.

– Ship from home! USPS, Fedex and UPS all offer online shipping options that allow you to ship without leaving your home. Carriers will even pick up your package right from your doorstep, so you can skip the lines and save some serious time. You’ll be amazed at how simple and easy the process is.

For more information about saving time during the holidays, visit www.bankofamerica.com/solutions. Bank of America has also recently launched a Twitter handle to share time-saving and money-saving tips! Simply follow @BofA_Tips to stay in the know!

I save time by making lists and trying to consolidate any of my errands into one big run. Also, I bake with my mom which motivates both of us and helps to save us both time since we can split up what we bake.

I do all of my shopping online – I don’t have to go to the post office during the holiday season because I just have it shipped straight to who it needs to go to. Definitely the ultimate time saver! Your tip about wrapping the presents immediately wouldn’t work with my 3 year old – I know she would open them when we weren’t looking – even if they weren’t for her!! Well, I guess I could wrap them & hide them…but no, we’ll be up all hours Christmas Eve…

The day I plan to bake I get out all the items I will need the night before as well as ingredients that are not in fridge. That morning I take out eggs, butter, etc so it can be at room temp when I start mixing the cake or cookies.
I try to wrap my gifts the day/night I get them so I don’t have to many to wrap at last minute. I keep them in my walk in closet so my 4 cats will not unwrap them before Christmas. lol

This holiday we save money by checking online sales- finding online codes. If its a brand I really like I will email the company to see if they have any coupons they could send me.

Also this year we have adopted another military family to get gifts for so finding good deals is a must this year.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

I actually use the one tip that you mentioned. Everytime a gift comes in the house, wrap it! I shop all through the year online and in the stores. And since I host both Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, I grocery shop for both of the holidays at the same time and try to make and freeze extra dishes and cookie dough while my kitchen is a mess cooking the Thanksgiving meal. I can’t tell you what a relief it is to have almost everything done when I go to cook for Christmas!

I try to stay out of stores as much as possible by doing my gift shopping online and planning my holiday menus in advance, making one huge grocery shopping trip to the supermarket to get everything I’ll need.

I have done the majority of my holiday gift shopping online for the past three years. It’s easy to compare prices without leaving my house. I save money and my purchases are delivered right to my door. This has not only saved time but made holiday shopping much less stressful.
