When Big Pea was just a wee Pea, she was jaundiced and the pediatrician was insistent that we track every detail of her existence. Truth be told, we were brand new parents, scared, and just trying to function under severe sleep deprivation. Remaining attentive to a make-shift journal that tracks her every mood, feeding, diaper changes, etc., was just that extra push that may have sent us over the edge. Although we made it through with our sanity (or at least I like to think), our journal was less than perfect and completely disorganized. I can only imagine that the pediatrician thought we were plum nuts, and it certainly didn’t help him, help us!
Pediatricians everywhere can now rejoice with the introduction of Similac’s new and Free StrongMoms Baby journal app for the Iphone!
Similiac StrongMoms Baby Journal
With the free Similac Baby Journal app, you can easily track baby’s eating, sleeping, and diaper changes. You can predict the next feeding time. And see connections between what goes in—and what comes out. When you know what to expect, you can make the most of your time, and your time together!
So, How Does it Work?
Feeding – Whether your breastfeeding or bottle feeding, the StrongMoms Baby Journal allows you to start and stop a feeding timer with a simple tap of your finger. From here, you can view feeding graphs that allow you to track how much baby eats, time between feedings, duration of feedings, and more! You can even email the feeding graphs to family members or your child’s pediatrician.
Diaper Changes – Track what comes out of baby in a detailed manner. The StrongMoms Baby Journal allows you to choose what kind of diaper you change (#1 or #2, or both), consistency, color, and you can even add your own notes on each diaper change if you find something funny.
Sleep – with a tap of your finger, you can start a sleep timer that will allow you track the timing of baby’s naps and duration.
Growth – keep track of baby’s length, weight and head circumference right from your Iphone.
Trends – the StrongMoms app allows parents to learn their babies trends over time. New parents can learn what to expect from thier baby and predict daily schedules.
Advice – this feature of the StrongMoms Baby Journal is truly priceless! You can get advice on feeding, sleeping, diapering, milestones and even tips from other mom’s and dad’s, right from your Iphone. What’s more, is you can connect with a live feeding experts for help!
My Thoughts
I wish this Iphone app was available when my girls were born. I cannot tell you much easier and simpler we could have tracked our baby’s progress and daily schedule if we had this app. I often would forget which side I last breastfed on, and with the StrongMoms app, that ceases to be an issue. I can only imagine that new moms can relate. I would like to see an average growth chart by age, so that parents could compare their child’s growth with what’s normal and average for their child’s age. There’s something comforting in knowing that your baby is thriving.

If I had of had this when my were babies, life would of been so much easier. I def. need to share this with my SIL who is learning what life with a baby is all about, after having her 1st on Feb 1.
I wish that had been around when my girls were born. What a neat and cool ap to help new and seasoned parents.
how does a formula company know how to give tips to breastfeeding women? I suppose it could be useful to some, with the other features. Great post.
This is sucah a great thing for them to encourage breastfeeding.
This definitely sounds like a great app for those mommies out there.
Great app for new moms! I wish I had this three years ago when I needed it. My journal consisted of sticky notes strewn all of my kitchen and desk! Thanks for sharing.
