When my first daughter was born, I had to supplement with formula because I just didn’t produce enough breast milk. I always found the process of making bottles to be a bit tedious, as the experts have said that the “safest” way to heat a baby bottle is by placing it in warm water. Well that process can take awhile, and any parent will tell you that when a hungry baby has to wait on a bottle to heat up, it’s not exactly a pretty sight. Even after the bottle was heated, I would worry that it was either too hot, or not hot enough. Well with the introduction of Beaba’s Bib’ expresso, parents can now fix a bottle in 30 seconds flat, and the best part is, this product does all of the thinking for you!

Beaba Bib’ expresso
With the Bib’expresso it is now possible to prepare a bottle in a few seconds, with just one hand and be certain it is at the perfect temperature for baby. The Bib’expresso’s unique water flow mixes powdered formula quickly, reducing air bubbles and eliminating hot spots. Product comes with a compact, removable bottle and food warmer that can be used to heat food jars and prepared bottles of breast milk and formula. And, the bottle storage compartment located on the back of unit doubles as a microwavable bottle sterilizer, holding up to three 10 ounce (300 ml) bottles. With a self cleaning steam system, you save time and the Bib’expresso is sterilized for future use.

Aside from heating bottles to the perfect temperature (98 deg.) in 30 seconds flat, the Bib’ expresso sterilizes and stores bottles, as well as heats baby food. The unit even cleans itself, ensuring that it’s hygenic for future use. The all-in-one unit takes up minimal counter space, offers an attractive modern design, and is one kitchen gadget that you’ll find yourself using daily.

Bottle Preperation
Bottle preparation is quick and easy with the Bib’ expresso. Simply add formula powder to bottle, and place the bottle on the container grid. Next, fill the Bib’ expresso with water and press the bottle button. Once the water reaches 98 deg. (the perfect temperature for your baby), a light will flash. Then, simply press down on the water distribution button until the bottle has been filled. Your done!

Heating Bottles & Food Jars (Bain-Marie Mode)
This setting is typically used to heat baby food jars, however this function can also heat bottles the old fashion way. To heat food jars, simply fill the Bib’ expresso with water to the “max” line. Place the bottle or jar in the heating unit and press one of two buttons:

Button 1 – this button will heat items that have been stored at room temperature.
Button 2– this button will heat items that have been stored in a refrigerator.

Once the items have been heated to the proper temperature, the unit will switch off and beep three times.

Microwave Sterlizer & Storage Unit
Located on the back of the Bib’ expresso is a removable plastic container that can hold up to three bottles (note that not all bottles may fit). To sterlize bottles, simply remove the container from the Bib’ expresso and place it on it’s side. Fill container with bottles and water to the central mark. Place the sterlizer in the microwave, and heat for 4-6 minutes. The sterlizer compartment does have multiple vent holes and it’s important that users allow the water to full cool before removing and draining the water.

Steam Clean Operation
The Bib’ expresso comes equipped with a self-cleaning function and with just a little water and a touch of a button, the Bib’ expresso cleans itself and even turns itself off when it’s done! Does it get any easier than that?

My Thoughts
The Bib’ expresso is certainly a unique unit, and the first I have seen of it’s kind. The idea is a good one, and for parents who are bottle feeding (especially during the night), the ease of use and quick turn around time makes this product appealing. The instructions were easy to follow, and I think parents will appreciate it’s modern design. Finding a place on the counter for the Bib’ expresso seemed to be the most difficult part, and although the unit itself is not what I would consider to be “large”, it is too big for travel.

The versatile nature of the Bib’ expresso is a feature that I believe parents will enjoy. We loved that each function of the Bib’ expresso has it’s own button, and once you learn what each of the four buttons functions are, its quick and easy to ensure that you’re using the right function for the task at hand.

Although we enjoy that the Bib’ expresso offers an option to sterilize bottles, we found the sterilizing unit to be a little awkward. The sterilizing unit has multiple vent holes (and it needs them) around the unit and it’s nearly impossible to fill the unit at the sink and transfer it to the microwave without spilling water. The only way to use the sterilizing unit without spilling water, is to place the unit (with bottles) in the microwave first, then add the water. Once the sterilization process is finished, users will have to ensure that the water has cooled down before removing from the microwave, and be careful not to spill water on the way back to the sink.

With it’s modern design, versatility, ease of use, and the overall convenient nature of the product, the Bib’ expresso offers parents a time-saving, all-in-one unit that is sure to get plenty of use! Retailing at $130, this product is a bit on the pricey side, however parents who are still feeding baby during the night, or just want to spend a little less time on feeding preparation, may find that it’s worth it’s weight in gold.
