Meal time is fun at our home. Not really messy not real neat. It is challenging with two little ones though.

My daughter is 12months and just started to feed independently with utensils. Needless to say most of the food ends up on the floor, her face or lap..but she enjoys the experience.

Our meal time is fun! Me and my almost 10 mo old end up needing a shower, every time she gets a hold of the spoon 🙂

Mealtime is getting slightly better. My 18 month used to dump his plate or throw it to the floor to let us know he was done. Now he (usually) tells us using baby sign. He’s still trying to get the hang of silverware though.
Of course, by the time he finally masters it, the second one will be ready for solids. Yikes!
Kerrin
Mealtime is one part chaos one part fun. If it weren’t for the dog, my floors would never food-free, but the whole family finishes full and happy (knock on wood!)

My daughter is 18 months old. She’s been feeding herself since she was 12 months old. She does very well but there are always certain foods (ie soup) that can end up just about everywhere!

my kids are so different. I have one that eats everything you serve him and the other one you kind of have to play games with. If he notices something that doesn’t look good, he won’t eat it.

My daughter is super efficient! She is a bit messy, but she will get every last bit of food, even the bits in her bib! She loves to eat! We are just starting to introduce a spoon to her, which is the messy part of our meals!

mealtimes can sometimes be easy as my kids love to eat…..other times they love using their fingers for food that you should be using a fork and spoon…

We have 2 opposite stages going on. My 4 year old is getting to be a neater eater always using his utensils and our 2 year old still goes back and forth from finger feeding himself everything to using a fork and a spoon pretty well. Heaven forbid he actually let us help him in any way.
Tracey
My 1 year old enjoys throwing her food once she’s had enough. She’s also no stranger to using food as hair product.
Zmama
We just started solids with my 6month old and he’s been good and cooperative so far!

My daughter just turned one and we actually had spaghetti, cauliflower, and apples for dinner last night, she is fond of self finger feeding and it is a fight if I try to use a spoon to feed her. So she and her 3 year old sister went straight to the bath after dinner. Then I had to wipe down her high chair.
