Last weekend we took Big Pea and Lil’ Pea over to our local Cool Cuts 4 Kids for a few much needed hair trims! Cool Cuts 4 Kids is the nations largest salon chain for kids, offering a kid-friendly atmosphere, fun entertainment zones, and trained staff. I, of course, did a quick internet coupon search before leaving the house and found a new customer coupon that was good for $5 off any service of $11.95 or higher and went in armed with a coupon for each of my girls.
As we walked through the doors, the girls were so excited to see that there were four video game stations that they could play while they waited for an available stylists, and I enjoyed the large array of children’s hair products and hair accessories that the store offered. After waiting for about…oh 1 minute… the girls were given the option of sitting at the princess station (a station with a chair, tule, and pictures of princesses everywhere) or in a fire truck. Big Pea went for the princess station, and Lil’ Pea couldn’t help herself with the fire truck and just had to get inside of it as quickly as possible.
Once seated, I had the opportunity to discuss what I wanted done to the girls hair with each of the very nice stylists, and the girls were able to pick out a movie while the stylists cut their hair. If you have had your child’s hair cut before, then you know full well how difficult it can be to get them to sit still. I have even found myself dancing in the middle of a high end salon while everyone stared at me like I was a crazy person. But enough about dancing monkeys, let’s get back to our adventure… As you can imagine, the salon was suddenly abuzz with the sound of Tangled and Barbie, and the girls sat still until the stylists were finished…SCORE! I was thrilled to see that the stylists really took their time on the girls hair, ensuring that it was perfect just like a princess should be. We were in and out in about twenty minutes flat.
Can you ask for anymore out of a kids haircut?

We take both our older boys to Cool Cuts 4 Kids and they love going! We keep them occupied by letting them play with the Thomas the Train Table they have at Cool Cuts 4 Kids and having them watch Thomas the Train while getting their haircut.

I have taken our portable DVD Player with my sons favorite Disney movie and held it in front for him to watch while she was cutting his hair. It does keep him perfectly still.

Don’t hate me, but my kiddo (just turned two, but has had 4-5 haircuts already) is actually quite good at sitting still and holding his head in whatever way is asked!! I’ve actually had the stylists quite surprised by his easy-going attitude when getting haircuts. Now if only he could be that easy going ALL the time we’d be set!!
