I can remember the first time I stepped into a circus tent. Just six years old and fueled by excitement and cotton candy, the sheer size of the tent was overwhelming, let alone the amazing animals and performers within it. I had read about Elephants and seen pictures in books, but my small six year old frame was not prepared for how I would feel as I sat I one (yes, back then this was still allowed). My first trip to the circus still remains one of my fondest memories and one that I want to pass along to my own children when they visit Bakersfield August 25th through the 28th!
Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus – Fully Charged
Fully Charged is the the all-new surge of circus entertainment from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey where megawatts of thrills explode off of the arena floor with breathtaking dare-devilry, superhuman stunts and never-before-seen performances that energize Children of All Ages!
The amazing acts, which can only be seen at The Greatest Show On Earth®, include Tabayara, a dynamic animal trainer whose rare ability to communicate with animals allows him to ride rearing stallions at a fully charged gallop and orchestrate majestic four-ton Asian Elephants in a symphony of dance.
Audiences will feel the earth shake when the Ukrainian strongman duo of Dmitry Nadolinkskiy and Ruslan Gilmulin, who are as wide as they are tall, enter the arena and The Fearless Fernandez Brothers dial up the thrills as they perform daring feats of athleticism on the Twin Turbines of Steel, including, extreme jumps and twists inside the moving wheels!
The Human Fuse, Brian Miser, sets the arena sky ablaze as he rockets through the air from his self-made human crossbow. Don’t blink as he flashes across the sky in less than a second, and travels 80 feet at 65 miles per hour. And, have you ever wonder how many clowns it takes to change a light bulb? The hilarious hoopla continues to flow as the clowns from the world-famous Ringling Bros.®clown-alley, charge-up the audiences’ funny bones with hysterical silly antics and clownish comedy.

One of my fondest memories as a child was getting to ride on an elephant in the huge circus tent! I was terrified and excited at teh same time!! I loved it!While we do not have the authentic tents like when I was a child, I still enjoy sharing the circus magic with my children and my nieces and nephews!
my favorite memory of the circus is going with my dad, n just seeing all the animals and riding on the elephant that one time

Growing up I never had the chance to go to a circus. My daughter is 5 years old and she would LOVE this!!! 🙂
I can remember as a little girl going to the circus was a BIG deal. We didn’t have a lot of money growing up so I can remember the feeling and the excitement that that night was going to be great! I can remember sitting in the stands with my parents & them smiling. My mom telling me about how the tightrope walkers were her favorite. My dad loving the animals & me loving the clowns. And the smell. I can remember there was a certain smell that night. Funny how little things seem so big when you’re a child!
My favorite memory of the circus is when I went with my best friend. She had moved to Colorado, but got to come back and visit and we went to the circus. It was so much fun:)

If my family won these tickets it would be a first for all of us. So it would be awesome if we could have a great new experience together
I remember going to a small circus after the Northridge earthquake [which left me quite shaken]. For a little while I completely forgot about my worries and had a good time! I now have two kids who I would like to take to the show and give them some good memories as well.
I remember my father taking me and my sisters to the circus. We had so much fun watching the clowns. He has since passed away so I cherish that memory.
I follow you on facebook. I love the tigers at the circus.
Yay! A Bako giveaway! 🙂
My favorite memory of going to the Circus is when my parents took us to see it at the LA Coliseum and we got to get our faces painted and have a meet & greet with all of the clowns.

We had tickets to the circus when I was 4yo, but my little brother decided to arrive several weeks early. My mom insisted my dad still take me, and I’ll never forget being SCARED OUT OF MY MIND riding the elephant! I can’t believe they used to let you do that!

Hello I wish I had a memory to share…. But I want to say I’ve heard so many good things about how professional and awesome this show is. I would love as an adult to take my family to experience the circus my children would love this. As an adult I know I would love this as well it would take me back to being a child for a night.
I never got to go to the circus as a child but i have a 4 yr old who I know would LOVE to go!!
My mom, brother and I would always go to the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus at the Fair Grounds in Oklahoma City. We always looked forward to watching the tigers and the clowns. It was the one time per year we KNEW we were getting cotton candy LOL. I hope to pass those sort of memories to my children.

I honestly don’t remember EVER going to the circus. I asked my sister & she said the same thing… SO this would be a first for me… I think my kids went to one with my in-laws in Tehachapi one year.

Well I am sad to say I am 38 and never been to the circus but have always wanted to. Myself and my 10yr old daughter want to go so bad but I am on disability and don’t have much extra money to spend. It would be an absolute honor if you would pick us to get free tickets and fulfill a wish for both of us then I would have stories to tell of the wonderful Barnum and Bailey Circus. Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider us.
I honestly can’t remember ever going to the circus, but know that I have always wanted to. Now that I have 2 little ones, going is a must!

I remember loving the acrobats. They seemed so high and I was always a little frightened that one of them would fall!
Hi, unlike everyone else who has a favorite memory of the circus when they were a child, unfortunately I don’t have one. The reason for that is because I have never been to the circus. When I was little, my dad worked constantly and was always away from home, and my mom just never cared to go to the circus. So, I just forgot about it because I knew we probably would never go. Now that I’m older (25 years of age), I am married and have a baby of our own. My husband is a teacher, and I am a full time babysitter of 2 kids (along with my own child of course.) my husband and I always seem to get caught up with things around the house when we are home, and we hardly make the time to go on dates anymore. When I heard the circus was in town, I was really excited, and have wanted to go, but I just didn’t see myself spending money on tickets when I have groceries, diapers, etc to buy. It’s not like we don’t have the money to go, it’s just that things are a little tight at the moment, and I was just thinking of priorities. After this whole long story of my life, I guess what I am asking is if you would be willing to give the tickets to someone who has never gone and would love to go and make the first memories of the circus with my husband. Thank you so much for reading this and possibly considering me. I appreciate it.

I love everything about the circus… the smell of popcorn, cotton candy, and animals. Strange costumes and amazing stunts!
I did not have the opportunity to go to the circus as a child.

One of my fondest memories was watching the elephants (although I was too scared to get on one for a picture). I also remember the clowns doing many tricks. And it was my first time eating cotton candy! I would love to be able to take my 3 year old daughter to the circus but money is tight this month with school coming up. 🙁

I remember going to the circus with my grandparents when I was around age 6. It was so amazing, I loved the women acrobats! But I doubt my Mother enjoyed how daring I became on my swing set at home trying to imitate them. I even made signs for the front door to charge admission, lol

I cannot post a favorite childhood memory of the Circus because I have never been. I think it would be fantastic to create memories with my children as we all experience the circus for the first time together.

Growing up on the border in Texas, we had the opportunity to see the Mexican circus in Cd. Juarez. I remember my mom taking my sister and I and it was always such a fun experience. The circus tent, the cotton, and especially the acrobatics were always so fascinating. I remember the sensory overload was so incredible that I was exausted by the time we went home. As we got older and our mom moved to Las Vegas, our “circus” experience turned into Circus Circus on the strip, which was fascinating in itself, but not equally to the Mexican circus.
My favorite was ALWAYS the acrobats!
My memory of the circus coming to town: Total excitement! As a child, I recall the first thing that hit me was the sounds and smells; the ring master introducing each act and the smell of hot popcorn, the straw, the animals and you could just feel the energy! My mom would hide her face behind her hands when they were on the high wire and my Dad was just as excited as any kid, clapping his hands and cheering during the show! I can’t wait to share this with my son!
To tell you the truth I don’t have a favorite childhood memory of the circus. My family never went when I was little but I’d love to create some memories there with my boys! Thanks for a chance to win.

My parents took me to the circus when I was very young and as a result I have no memories of the trip :(. My kids are 11 & 4 1/2 and they are dying to go to this event! It would be AMAZING to be able to experience it ‘for the first time’ with them!
It’s been so long since I’ve been to the circus, that the only thing I remember about it is that I went with my deceased grandparents. I’m now a (recently) single mom, and would love to be able to take my two girls to see the circus. My youngest saw a billboard sign advertisement the other day and started begging me to take them. It broke my heart to have to tell her I didn’t have the money for tickets. It just isn’t in my tight budget to do the fun activities we used to take for granted. I know my girls would more than appreciate the opportunity for a fun family adventure… and so would I.
The first time I went to the Circus was when I lived in Wasco, CA. I was in high school, but I really wanted to see the circus and see what it was all about. I only knew of the circus because of books and movies. Well, it was amazing. The animals, the people hanging from the strings above, the junk foods and being there with my family. From then on, if there’s a circus I try my best to take my family so they can enjoy the show.
