It’s confession time! I consider myself to be a frugal mom in most instances. However, there is one area I really need help! The process of coupon clipping and matching coupons to sales, hurts my head, literally. I tried clipping coupons out of the paper and magazines and then I would begin to match them with sales to get most items, nearly free. So why on earth did I stop? The headaches would come, when the scissors hit the paper. The amount of time it took to find the coupons, clip the coupons, match the coupons, head to the store, spend an hour and a half in the store trying to find the exact products so that the coupons would scan properly, just exhausted me and I gave up! Sworn to never again return.
But let’s face it, we’re in the middle of the recession and although I have never wanted for many things thanks to my darling husband, it’s not the wanting that has steered me back to the ever dreaded coupon land, but the safety of savings. I want my girls college education to be paid for long before they arrive at that destination, I want my family to feel security in a large savings account that grows expedentially with the right investments. I want to contribute NOW to our future financial plan and because I am in school and choose to stay at home with my girls, my contribution comes in the form of coupon clipping and saving my family as much money as possible.
