Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes believes that every kid should have a place to be active and play hard. Many communities are facing hard times and lack the funding to maintain their playing fields. So recently, Mom Central teamed up with Kellogg’s to spread the word and Help! The goal of the “Earn Your Stripes field Renovation Program” is to rebuild neighborhood sports fields across the U.S. and you can help!
Thousands of fields were nominated, some with up to 700,00 supporters! Those fields have been narrowed down to 100 finalists and it’s your vote that will help determine the winners! I found the Joe Machado field in the city of Avalon, which is on Catalina Island, a place I frequented when I lived in the L.A. Harbor. Because they are isolated on an island and the community is very small, when somethings going on at the playing field, the whole town will show up. The poor field is in horrible condition and I was more than happy to vote for this field so that the kids in Avalon may have a shot at a new field. However, there are 99 other compelling stories of fields around the U.S. and I encourage you to find a story that compels you! So what are you waiting for…GO VOTE!
Voting started on May 1st and will continue to May 31st. So visit frostedflakes.com and vote for your favorite field now! Go! Go!
