I have received a multitude of emails over the past few months from mom’s who want to get started in the blogging world. I am always happy to help others who want to make their mark in the blogosphere, and happy to offer support to those who are trying to get started. For myself, blogging is my outlet, it’s a positive in what could be considered to be a terrible shopping habit.
Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone!
For myself, blogging was a fun way to share my “deal finds” with all of my friends, while at the same time, taking some much needed “mommy time” while my kids were sleeping. After 2 1/2 years of blogging, I decided to take it a step further, investing more time and energy, and turning it into a full time career of sorts.
Many others have come before me and made their personal and professional stamp on the blogging world. In looking at it from a business aspect, blogging does not require taking out a small business loan from companies like Lendio, nor does it require you to leave your home. However, making a decision to blog as a means of income requires time, dedication, time, networking skills, time, negotiating skills, time, oh and did I mention time?
Blogging is a daily activity. There are very few Saturdays or Sundays off, and the week is filled with giving your readers what you think is the information that they are looking for. For us here, deals are the name of the game, and although I had no need to take out a business loan, I did have to dedicate myself to the full-time idea of blogging. With that, I take on a multitude of new tasks and I must apply myself daily to the task at hand.
Blogging is not glamorous, nor is it something I am forced to do. Blogging is a lot of hard work, and it’s hard work that I really, really enjoying doing. I consider myself to be very lucky to have the opportunity to wake up each day and look forward to my daily activities here at “Deal”ectable Mommies. I enjoy sharing deals, conversing with readers through email, Twitter and our Facebook fan page, as well as making new friendships daily in the blogging community.
