From a very young age, our daughters have been involved in sports and other extra curricular activities that stimulate their bodies and their minds. My husband and I have always agreed that sports, music, and other extra curricular activities are an important aspect to growing up happy and healthy, and we have seen that these activities provide children with not only health benefits, but social, academic, and psychological benefits as well.
We choose to support local and nationwide sports and extra curricular activity efforts, which is why we are so thrilled to share a way for you to get involved and help children reap these benefits by supporting Little League players everywhere!
Subway is hosting its third annual Subway Baseball DeSIGNS Tour, where more than 40 baseballs designed by young artists and signed by celebrities and athletes, such as Katy Perry, Zac Efron, Michael Phelps and many more, will be auctioned off to raise money for Little League Baseball!
The Scoop…
“As the world’s leading youth sports organization for over 70 years, Little League® is focused on providing a community program that includes the opportunity to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle through participation,” said Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little League® Baseball and Softball. “SUBWAY® continues to reach out and embrace the focus of the Little League Urban Initiative and its benefits to Leagues. We’re looking forward to this summer-long event and its culmination in August at the Little League Baseball World Series”
How You Can Help…
Through August 28th, you can bid on your favorite autographed baseballs on eBay, and help the Baseball Urban Initiative Program, which helps fund start-ups, equipment, developments, clinics and field maintenence for inner-city youth leagues and teams.
