There are many different carriers on the market today, in fact, I own about 6! Yes, 6 carriers. Why? I like a variety and I like to mold my carrier to my mood. Wearing my baby is very important to me and a large part of her development and bonding with me. Lil’ Pea is an attached little person and she feels most comfortable being held. These days are going to be over soon and my only hope is that I can give her the love and confidence she needs now, so that she can begin to navigate the world on her own as she grows older. For me, it is natural to hold my baby, but sometimes, just sometimes, I need my hands 😉 Do I need 6? Absolutely not! However, there are some really exceptional carriers out there and I like to wear them all!
If your looking for a pouch style carrier, New Native has some very yummy carriers. I say yummy, because that’s just what they are! Their fabric is delicate, soft and stretchy and their designs are equally lovely. New Native Baby Carrier, you can hold your baby in a front position, side position or back position and their best suited for newborns to 35 lbs. Meaning this carrier is going to grow with your child, allowing you to carry your toddler in a comfortable hip carry position.
New Native Baby Carriers come in cotton, silk and organic cotton choices and a variety of designs. New Native sent us the 100% Cotton Natural Twill Baby Carrier with Poppy Trim and we just can’t say enough about it. The fabric is beautiful and we liked how roomy the carrier is. The material is stretchy enough that it allows for a “built in suspension” if you will and we really felt that Lil’ Pea was in safe little cocoon, allowing us to feel confident that she wasn’t going anywhere! If your planning on wearing this sling with a brand new baby, it’s recommended that you purchase the optional infant support pillow. This will allow babies head to be propped up a bit, so that he/she doesn’t get lost in the carrier 😉
We were really fond of the benefit of breast feeding convenience with this carrier. The carrier places your baby right near mama’s milk, allowing for quick and easy breast feeding while on the go. This option is important for our family, because when Lil Pea gets hungry, she doesn’t want to wait! I’m sure quite a few of you mom’s can sympathize with me on this! We also liked that this carrier can be folded up very small and thrown in the diaper bag. I’m not always sure how Lil’ Pea’s mood is going to be on any given day and if were out shopping and she wants out of her stroller, I like that I can just reach into my diaper bag and grab it out of the side pocket. Easy Peezy!
New Native Baby Carriers start at $36 for cotton carriers, $54 for 100% Organic Cotton Carriers and if your looking for a super fancy carrier, you can pick up a 100% silk carrier for about $160. You can purchase New Native Baby Carriers online or find a retailer by clicking here.
Was there anything we didn’t like about the New Native Baby Carrier?
In retrospect, No! However, we felt that the sizing of the New Native Carrier ran a little big. We ordered a medium which would fit my size according to their sizing chart, however, in a side carrying position, Lil’ Pea was hanging a little low. It may be helpful to call the company to ensure a correct size or just order a smaller size.
