Many of you may remember THIS POST back in November, where we joined forces with Lands End and the National Coalition for the Homeless to raise awareness about the Big Warm up, a nation wide effort to warm-up those who are less fortunate in our local communities! A Big THANK YOU to all of you who took the time to search your closets and donate any used coats that you were no longer using!
It’s important to our family to help those who may be less fortunate than we are. So when I heard about the Big Warm up, I jumped in the campaign quickly in an effort to round up as many of you as possible to donate your used coats! Little did I know that as a part of blogging about this amazing effort, I had the CHANCE to win 100 coats from Lands End, which I could then donate to the charity of my choosing. Well guess what? I won!!!!
When I received the winning email from Lands End, I think I broke every ear drum that was in our house. I ran from one side of the house to the other, screaming the entire time!
We were thrilled to keep our donation local, donating all 100 coats to the Bakersfield Rescue Mission, who in only one months time, provides over 11,000 meals and over 5,000 articles of clothing to the local people of our community!
We feel blessed to have a hand in helping our community and it’s all thanks to the wonderful folks at Lands End…so a big THANK YOU to their entire team!
