Finding deals, clipping coupons, and ensuring that we get the lowest Discounts on items we purchase isn’t just a hobby for our family, but rather a necessity. Although visiting one grocery store would be ideal, I have found that visiting multiple stores and combining coupons with in-store deals can really save us a ton of money!
I have had many people ask me why I waste my time with coupons and they always get the same response – “every coupon equals money in my pocket, and if your Sunday paper showed up with dollar bills in it, wouldn’t you take the time to clip them and keep them”? Most people quickly agree and see couponing in a whole new light, and I’ve even been known to convert non-couponers into die-hard couponers! In fact, many of them even surpass me now in skill!
Couponing isn’t easy. It takes time, but is well worth it in the end. I personally prefer to shop online for the items that I can, not only because it takes less time in my humble opinion, but I also don’t have to get out of my pj’s or waste that precious commodity we call “fuel”! Oh, and let’s not forget about the coupon codes! Combining coupon codes with online deals has resulted in multiple years where Christmas wasn’t even a financial issue that we had to think about. Last year we did Christmas for about $300 out of pocket, and that included every.single.person on our list.
So the next time you see the Sunday paper, remember that there’s hidden dollar bills inside – they just look a little different. Remember to keep checking back here at DM often, where we will keep you up to date with the latest and greatest deal news!
Absolutely! I used to get those “Why waste your time” comments too – that’s what inspired me to start my coupon blog, so could “Show” them why I do it. 🙂
